Eligibility Criteria for GMC Handwara Junior Staff Nurse
Educational Qualification
Candidates must possess:
- 10+2 with Science, and
- B.Sc. Nursing or GNM Diploma from an institution recognized by the J&K Nursing Council
- Valid Registration Certificate from J&K Nursing Council
Eligibility is governed by Government Order No. 669-JK(HME) of 2022 dated 19-09-2022.
Age Limit
- Upper Age Limit: 63 years
- Age will be calculated as on the date of notification.
GMC Handwara Junior Staff Nurse Engagement Period
- Initial engagement will be for one (01) year
- Extendable up to a maximum of six (06) years, subject to:
- Satisfactory performance
- Good conduct
- Availability of posts
- The engagement will end automatically on joining of regularly selected candidates, whichever is earlier.

- Selection will be conducted strictly as per S.O. 364 of 2020
- If applications are large in number, GMC Handwara will conduct a:
- Written MCQ-based Test

Important Terms and Conditions
- Engagement is purely temporary and does not confer any right to regular appointment
- In-service candidates are not eligible to apply
- Selected candidates must submit an affidavit at the time of joining, stating they will not leave before completion of one year
- If regular candidates join:
- Lower-merit candidates will be disengaged first
- Earlier-selected candidates will be disengaged before later ones
- GMC Handwara reserves the right to:
- Increase or decrease vacancies
- Cancel the recruitment process at any stage
- Submission of false or misleading information will lead to:
- Immediate cancellation of candidature
- Debarment for two (02) years
