The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has issued an important notification regarding the setting of question papers for old course students appearing in the Annual (Private) / Bi-Annual Examinations 2026.
As per the notification, all re-appear and failure candidates of:
- Secondary School Examination (Class 10)
- Higher Secondary Part-I (Class 11)
- Higher Secondary Part-II (Class 12)
who are enrolled under the old course, will now have their question papers set strictly from the New Syllabus and Courses of Studies.
The Board clarified that the question papers will be prepared as per the syllabus currently in vogue for regular students of the academic sessions 2024–25 and 2025–26.
This decision applies to all candidates appearing in the ensuing Annual (Private) / Bi-Annual Examination 2026, and aims to bring uniformity in assessment standards across regular and private candidates.
JKBOSE has advised all concerned students and stakeholders to prepare according to the revised syllabus and refer only to the latest prescribed textbooks and course content to avoid any confusion.
Students are further advised to regularly visit the official JKBOSE website for syllabus details and future updates.
