JKSSB Constable recruitment 2026 update: Medical examination to begin from 6 February

The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has issued a notification regarding the conduct of the medical examination for provisionally selected candidates for the posts of Constable in the Home Department.

JKSSB had earlier notified the provisional selection list for various Constable posts vide Notification No. JKSSB–Scry/35/2025–03 dated 05.12.2025 and Notification No. JKSSB–Scry/38/2025–03 dated 02.01.2026, against Advertisement Notification No. 01 of 2024 dated 16.07.2024, under Item Nos. 01, 02, 03, 05 and 06. A total of 3980 Constable posts were advertised under Jammu and Kashmir Police.

As per the recruitment process, the next mandatory stage after provisional selection is the medical examination, which shall be conducted strictly in accordance with the prescribed norms of the indenting department.

JKSSB has observed that 325 candidates are common across multiple Constable categories/posts. Therefore, the medical examination of such common candidates will be conducted only once. The medical result obtained shall be treated as valid for all relevant categories to avoid duplication of medical tests and inconvenience to candidates.

Medical Examination Schedule

The provisionally selected candidates whose names appear in Annexure A and Annexure B of the notification are required to report for medical examination as per the details mentioned against their names.

Medical Examination Start Date: 06 February 2026

Candidates must report to the respective Medical Boards at the designated Hospitals/Government Medical Colleges (GMCs) as indicated in the official notification.

Ex-Servicemen candidates are required to produce their discharge book before the concerned Medical Board at the time of medical examination.

Candidates are advised to note that merely being called for medical examination does not confer any right to final selection. Final appointment shall be subject to successful completion of all stages of the recruitment process and fulfillment of prescribed eligibility conditions.
