The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has issued an official notification regarding the withdrawal of certain posts advertised earlier under the Home Department. As per the latest notice issued by the jkssb, the posts of Assistant Superintendent Jails, Computer Assistant, and Junior Assistant have been withdrawn ab-initio.
This decision has been taken following a communication received from the Home Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir.
Details of Withdrawn Posts
The following posts, advertised earlier by JKSSB, have now been withdrawn:

All the above posts belong to UT Cadre (Home Department).
Reason for Withdrawal
The Home Department, vide Letter No. HOME-Jail/22/2022-01-HOME (CC No. 144165) dated 02 January 2026, has formally withdrawn the aforementioned posts ab-initio. Accordingly, JKSSB has notified that these posts will no longer be part of the recruitment process.
Important Clarification by JKSSB
JKSSB has reiterated that, as mentioned in para/S.No. 03 of the Advertisement Notifications, the number of posts advertised may increase or decrease during or before the completion of the selection process. The Board is not legally liable for such variations, and the recruitment process remains subject to the outcome of any writ petition or O.A. pending before a competent court.
