The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has appointed Mr. Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, JKAS, Secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE), to discharge the functions of Chairman, JKBOSE, as an interim arrangement.
According to S.O. 08, issued on January 12, the appointment has been made in exercise of the powers conferred under subsection (1) of Section 12 of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education Act, 1975 (Act No. XXVIII of 1975).

As per the government order, Mr. Ghulam Hassan Sheikh will perform the duties of Chairman JKBOSE in addition to his own responsibilities as Secretary, until further orders are issued.
The move comes at a crucial time when the Board is preparing for key academic activities, including the declaration of Class 10th and Class 12th results and conduct of annual examinations.
The order has been issued by order of the Government of Jammu and Kashmir and will remain in force as an interim arrangement.
