- YIL Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Notification Out for 3979 Trade Apprentice Posts
Yantra India Limited (YIL) has released the official notification for engagement of Trade Apprentices (Ex-ITI and Non-ITI) for the 59th Batch under the Apprentices Act, 1961 and its amendments. The recruitment aims to support the Skill India Mission of the Government of India.
As per Advertisement No. 1457 dated 30 January 2026, YIL has notified approximately 3979 vacancies, including 2843 Ex-ITI and 1136 Non-ITI posts. Selected candidates will undergo apprenticeship training in Indian Ordnance and Ordnance Equipment Factories located across various states in India.

Important Notice for Applicants
- Candidates who applied earlier through apprenticeship.gov.in must re-apply through https://recruit-gov.com
- Candidates who have already completed apprenticeship and possess National Apprentice Certificate (NAC) are not eligible
Age Limit (As per Apprentices Act & NAPS-2)
- Minimum Age:
- 14 years (General Trades)
- 18 years (Hazardous Trades)
- Upper Age Limit: 35 years (All Categories)
Age will be calculated as per applicable government rules.
Educational Qualification (As on 03 March 2026)
For Non-ITI Candidates
- Passed Madhyamik / Class 10 or equivalent
- Minimum 50% marks overall
- Minimum 40% marks in Mathematics and Science
For Ex-ITI Candidates
- Passed ITI in relevant trade from NCVT / SCVT recognized institute
- Minimum 50% marks in ITI
- Must have passed Class 10 / Madhyamik with at least 50% marks
Note: Candidates appearing in qualifying exams or awaiting results are not eligible.
YIL Trade Apprentice Vacancy Details 2026
- Vacancies are factory-wise and trade-wise
- Candidates can apply for only one Ordnance / Ordnance Equipment Factory
- Trade allocation:
- Ex-ITI: Based on ITI trade and factory vacancy
- Non-ITI: Based on merit-cum-choice and availability
- Reservation applies as per Apprentices Act, 1961, Apprenticeship Rules, 1992, and Government of India norms
Selection Process
- Selection will be based on merit and factory choice
- Separate merit lists will be prepared for:
- Non-ITI candidates
- Ex-ITI candidates
Merit Criteria
- Non-ITI: Percentage of marks in Class 10 (as per board rules)
- Ex-ITI: Average of Class 10 and ITI marks (minimum 50% in each)
In case of a tie:
- Older candidate gets preference
- Earlier year of passing Class 10
- Alphabetical order of name
Only provisionally selected candidates will be called for Document Verification and Medical Examination.
Stipend Details

Medical Examination & Training
